Job Description
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, provides required tasks to successfully install a network internally or in a customers' environment. For customer installations, provides high-level support in a pre, current or post sales installation environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Installs current network operating system on new or existing network devices and/or installs communication equipment including routers, switches and firewalls
Installs software on networking devices.
Provides phone support to employees or customers relative to networking technology.
Analyzes network topologies to determine potential issues and makes suggestions for recommended changes.
Assists with the preparation of network assessments and certifications.
Additional essential functions for network installations at a customer site:
Installs current network operating server software on new or existing server-class hardware and/or installs communication equipment including routers, terminal servers, switches and firewalls.
Installs supporting applications and peripherals on the above mentioned servers including tape backup hardware and software, email software, anti-virus software, etc. and/or implement technologies.
Installs user workstation hardware, operating software and various application software and/or pre-configured equipment.
Configures user IDs and customer-specific settings on servers and transfers data from the old environment to the new environment.
Corresponds with customer and other divisions within the company to insure all customer concerns and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Assists Sales by analyzing customer requirements and recommending appropriate products and
services
.
Prepares statements of work relative to upcoming network installations and general preparations for installations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or higher education technical training preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience in network engineering or related field; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Applicable technical certification(s) preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization. Works on moderately complex and diverse projects. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Strong knowledge of company products and services.
Strong knowledge of network systems including LANs and WANs.
Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
General project management skills.
Able to use independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.
Able to multi-task and resolve issues.
May require the ability to work in stressful installation environments.
Understands and respects chain of command in a professional work environment.
Understand the need to regard confidential customer and company information with the highest regard
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical office setting with environmentally controlled conditions.
Able to work extended hours as business needs dictate.
Travel required; frequency varies by organization.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
